Case Studies & Reviews

  • Museum Apartments

Museum Apartments is a collection of Edinburgh Old Town apartments, found directly across from the National Museum of Scotland. It’s where historic heritage meets modern luxury.

    The Challenge

The newly opened luxury accommodation needed a website that felt as fresh and modern as its interiors. Mobile usability & a frictionless booking process were essential.

    The Solution

I created a light & airy online presence that leverages the client’s stunning branding & imagery to immerse visitors in the tranquility of the apartments. The booking system is easily accessible & an image-led ‘See & Do’ provides a flavour of the local area.

    Client’s Words

"Great service and highly recommend!" - Allan Carnegie

  • Manson Architects

Manson are award-winning architects and town planning consultants based in the heart of Edinburgh's New Town.

    The Challenge

Moving from a dated portfolio site to a modern online presence that matches Manson’s authority & experience in the industry, as well as the large-scale projects they work on.

    The Solution

A clean, structural layout that reflects Manson’s design ethos - with a focus on clarity, technical performance, and ease of contact for B2B leads. Architectural images & plans are given room to breath & copy is used sparsely. The end result confidently embraces ultra-minimalism - allowing Manson’s authority & award winning work to shine through.

  • A Wee Taste

When I first met Karly she was setting up what turned out to be an extremely successful food and drink tour company. Her passion for the local food scene continued to grow & a year later she returned for a second website. With a mission to share her love for all things food and drink with a greater audience, she opened A Wee Taste wine & grazing bar.

    The Challenge

Creating an online presence to establish A Wee Taste as Edinburgh’s go-to foodie spot for wine, cocktails & picky, nibbly bits. Facilitating the sale of gift vouchers & online orders for local delivery & collection.

    The Solution

Led by lush images of brightly coloured delectable platters of food, A Wee Taste’s website is eye catching & impactful. Booking, purchasing vouchers & ordering online are straightforward. The website is built on Squarespace so Karly can easily make updates herself without having to worry about maintenance.

    Client’s Words

"Myself and George go way back to 2019 when I asked her to design my first website for me. Her professionalism and expertise was second to none, so I knew I had to get her to do my second website.

I have had so many compliments on my website design ranging from it being super user-friendly, crisp and modern to fun and engaging." -Karly Zagorac, Owner

  • Sociable Hounds

Sociable Hounds are not your average doggy daycare - prioritising mental stimulation, socialisation and short journey times. Starting out small & growing organically through word of mouth on account of their exceptional service. A dog parent myself, it was a pleasure to work on the project.

    The Challenge

Reimagining Sociable Hounds’ online presence to reflect their growth from trusted dog walker to Edinburgh’s ultimate doggy daycare adventure.

    The Solution

The new Sociable Hounds website captures the joy their doggy clients feel as they chase each other through the woodlands. The typography is warm & the imagery is playful. At the same time, the site leverages social proof (in the form of their many glowing reviews) & puts the team at the forefront to convey professionalism & trustworthiness. The site features clear service pages & enquiry forms.

  • Lara Scobie

Award-winning ceramicist, Lara Scobie makes one of a kind vessels in Fine Porcelain Parian clay. Her distinctive work celebrates graphic pattern & bold colour.

    The Challenge

Showcasing high-detail art in a way that feels professional yet personal & caters to both collectors & galleries.

    The Solution

A minimalist gallery-esque site that allows the work to breathe, with well optimised images that load quickly on all devices without losing the detail of Lara’s work.

    Client’s Words

"Thank you very much for everything, I am absolutely delighted with my new site and have already had a very positive response from my followers. George did a brilliant job and understood my vision perfectly."

    -Lara Scobie, Business Owner

  • Pochle

Pochle is a zero-waste distillery that produces a Scottish craft spirit from donated apples that otherwise would have gone to waste. It’s described as the Spirit of Stolen Apples.

    The Challenge

Establishing a new category of "apple-distilled spirit" while building trust in a circular-economy brand.

    The Solution

A playful yet easy to navigate website with a straightforward e-commerce setup. The site leads with the brand story & provides clear routes to buy.

    Client’s Words

“A thoroughly professional job with transparent fees and great fun to work with. Couldn't ask for more. Many, many thanks!" - Chris John Allistair

  • MF Coffee Project

    The Challange

Translating a social-impact project into a sleek, trustworthy e-commerce experience that commands a premium price point.

    The Solution

A story-led design that uses rich photography to connect the buyer to the product’s origin in Malawi while ensuring a fast, mobile-friendly checkout.

Bespoke Website Designer Edinburgh

Edinburgh is an ancient city with a modern, forward facing business & tech scene. Famously, Skyscanner started here and was sold for £1.4 billion in 2016. The BioQuarter has driven a surge in Green-Tech and Life Sciences companies, and Edinburgh Festival and Fintech continue to be important economic pillars for the city. As much as Edinburgh feels like a village - it’s still a pretty crowded and competitive market for most industries. Whether you’re in Finance, Tourism, or Tech - your website can be a powerful investment if executed well. My focus is on building sites that help you gain a competitive edge.

A modern website must be many things. As consumers grow ever more savvy - immersive storytelling, informative content and social proof is more important than ever. Businesses compete by becoming an authority on their subject and a genuinely useful resource to their customer base. Additionally, Google takes a mobile-first approach to assessing your website. It expects responsive design and well optimised content optimised that loads fast. There’s nothing web users hate more than waiting for a page to load!

A website is a call to action. While some brands should use a light touch when guiding users to the checkout or contact form - there should always be a clear user journey from the moment they land on the home page to the point at which they’re ready to buy or discuss. If people can’t find what they’re looking for within a few seconds, you’ll lose them instantly.

At the start of the process, we will discuss your business goals e.g., more calls, more sales, more bookings. From there, I will map out the user journey - ensuring a logical pathway from discovery of your brand to taking an action. We’ll look at where users have the potential to drop off and how you can recover them. We’ll also discuss how potential customers or clients might discover you in the first place - the key is to identify at least one form of marketing that you feel comfortable with and can do consistently without burning out. Some business owners love social media and others run a mile from it. Some thrive on collecting data while others prefer a more analogue approach. It’s about finding what works best for your business.

Areas Served

  • Bruntsfield & Morningside

With a strong community spirit and a vibrant range of independent shops and restaurants, Morningside & Bruntsfield are popular places to live. Businesses here live and die on reputation, with locals sharing reviews and recommendations on Facebook Groups like the Meadows Share and the Meadows Chat.

  • Stockbridge

This picturesque area is famous for its village feel and independent shops. You’ll often find me there on a Sunday stuffing my face with freshly made gyozas! Local retailers and boutiques rely heavily on foot traffic but a well curated online presence help ensure year-round sales even when the tourist season is over.

  • Leith & The Shore

A fast developing hub of creative agencies & tech startups - Leith has an independent spirit that sets it apart from the rest of the city. The recent construction of the The Port of Leith Distillery has made the area even more of a destination.

  • Old Town & Grassmarket

The centre of Edinburgh’s history and its digital future. Here you’ll find Code Base - the UK’s largest tech incubator - teaching software development and providing career opportunities. I build sites for start-ups and scale-ups that help secure investment and acquire users.

  • New Town & City Centre

Home to a range of legal practices, financial services, and high-end boutiques. With its iconic Georgian architecture, this area represents prestige and professionalism. Businesses here need websites that project authority, heritage, and high-trust levels to match the New Town reputation.

  • Portobello

Porty is a thriving hub of recreation, food, and local events. Here you’ll find independent book shops, bakeries and cafes. The area is popular with creatives who are drawn to the charming seaside and community spirit.

  • Livingston

Having survived many economic downturns, Livingston has the youngest, fastest growing population in Scotland. As part of the ‘Silicon Glen’, the area attracts a large volume of high-tech and life sciences companies. It’s also a well known retail destination, with the largest outlet shopping centre in the country. I build websites for the growing number of kitchen table startups and the service based businesses that serve the growing population.
